Is It A Reality Show Or Not
April 20th, 2010 by adminThe Biggest Loser is a television program. Television is a business and the Biggest Loser needs to turn a profit. The winner on the show does win a lot of money. For those who appear on the program, they use their notoriety to make a living after the show has finished airing. The Biggest Loser likes to think that they are more than just entertainment. The show believes that they are helping obese people get fit. What is the truth about the Biggest Loser? Does it count as entertainment or as a way to lose weight?
In the end the answer falls in the middle. There is no doubt that the show is on the air because people watch it. The higher the ratings, the more money it makes. When the ratings disappear, so will the show. The people who are on the show are starting to seem more interested in winning than they are in changing their lives. In order to get the check they have to drop a lot of pounds and they will often do whatever they have to in order to grab that check. The contestants go into the show with a game plan to follow. In order to win you only have to lose more than the other contestants who make it to the final three, not the people who were eliminated earlier. It is all about putting themselves in a position to win at the end. On the biggest loser weight loss forum there are many threads that talk about what a contestant is doing to survive in the show and whether it is the right strategy along with threads that discuss how much a contestant is like or disliked. Opinions on the forum are about of lot things that don’t include losing a few pounds.
Like other reality shows, the Biggest Loser is about forming alliances. having allies is essential if a person wants to stay on the show. If you pick the right side, you won’t be eliminated. You can’t win the game if you get eliminated. The final winner is decided by the amount of weight that is lost. They are not dong it by following a six pack ab exercise program and trying to follow a diet, instead they are exercising like it is their job, and they spend much of the day burning calories at a gym. The people on the show are housed at a ranch where their sole focus is on playing the game. When they go home they are still working out and dieting in ways that are often extreme. At the finale, the contestants have produced tremendous and often unbelievable results. The people weigh far less than they should. More pounds have been taken off than most people would do. The goal to win is more important than the goal to live at a healthy weight. The contestants will do whatever they have to do to their body to win the prize.
To figure out where a person should weight, they can check out the site http://www.fatlossfactor.com, where experts can help a person develop a weight loss program that is good for them and will get their body to the proper healthy weight. Not everyone has to lose enough weight to win a reality show. What happens to the contestants when the show is over is that the lost weight returns. Once the show is over, they put some of the pounds back on. In order for a person to be healthy, they need to be a proper weight. A healthy weight is not good enough to win the show, but a person needs to get to it at some point.
The Biggest Loser is a game show. The people on the show are there to do more than lose weight. That is obvious. Reality television is enjoyable. People like to tune in every week to follow their favorite contestant. Entertaining television is only one part of the Biggest Loser. Many people have decided to start their own diets after seeing the contestants succeeded while on the show. In that way the Biggest Loser is much more than just another television show.
Stumble it!

You know, I was just thinking about this last night when I watched the show.. It’s a game show and Jillian was “so upset” that Koli had decided to eat extra calories to keep his brother on the show. She said “Sam doesn’t need to be here anymore, he’s skinny…” Yep, but Koli needs his brother’s votes going down the road and they both want to stay there because it increases their chances of winning the $250k. I refuse to believe they’re just there to lose weight and not win the money.
